Building of the eighteenth
century, it is situated between St. Fosca' s Church
and its bell tower. This one crashed in 1410, for a violent
whirlwind and it was immediately rebuilt in the seem we observe
nowadays. It was rebuilt higher than before, while the whole
cell was built ex-novo; it is open by wide double lancet windows,
pointed stone arches, ended by a little copper cupola and tipical
gothic corner aedicules.
The Church, whose origins are maybe connected with the translation
of the Saint in Torcello, in the tenth century, was built in
1597, in 1679 was demolished and rebuilt, while about fifty
years later the Church was damaged by a fire and it was restored
ending in 1741. |

In the center of the
field of St. Fosca, it follows a monument dedicated to father
Paolo Sarpi, that beside the bridge was assaulted and
seriously wounded. It exists since about 20 years;
before as a "Pensione Hotel Da Nino" and later as"Hotel
Tintoretto"; in 1995 it was wholly renewed. The
Hotel can count on 17 rooms, among them there are 7 rooms with
the view on Canale S.Felice. |
